Anyone recommend an Italian place that serves great Garlic Prawns on rice? For some reason I have a craving for this…
Buy prawns at supermarket.
Dice gobs of garlic to suit you.
Fry garlic in small amount of oil in wok until just before brown.
Add prawns (shelled).
Add dash of white wine (rice wine).
Add 2 tablespoons of oyster sauce.
Cook short time stiring and turning until prawns turn color.
Put on top of Thai (non-sticky) rice. Top with garnish of chopped spring onions.
I just saved you lots of time and money. You are welcome.
Thanks for the recipe wolf_reinhold, you made me hungry just reading that, I’ll have to try it. I have to agree that prawns are one of the easiest things to cook and not expensive at the supermarket but usually very pricey at restaurants. A dozen Tiger Prawns at Carrefour usually runs under NT$150 (this time of year). I usually put them on a plate and slather with garlic crushed from a press and steam them for 3-5 minutes on high heat (a vendor at a traditional market recommended ginger as an alternative but I have never tried this, being a garlic addict.) I then eat them with cocktail sauce. However, if anybody identifies a place that does outstanding garlic prawns I’d love to try them.
