Fine dining. Seats looking into the kitchen. I’m not sure what region. I think it is in Neihu. I can’t find the thread where this restaurant was discussed!
Edit: Here it is!
Frassi - splendid experience and food (if you speak Chinese though, it’s better to have them explain each dish in Chinese; their staff’s English is not the best)
I don’t know why, but this picture looking into the kitchen is really appealing to me.
yes, very good. Chef Iacopo knows its stuff. It’s in Dazhi, next to Miramar and in the same building of Tairror and next to RAW.
To be fair, this is the best of the lot and the only one without michelin star, this shows how silly the system is in TW. After the gelato place in Taichung won 1 star, it really shows it is a farce.
Pls do enjoy the meal there, it is very nice, I sat at that counter and the experience is very enjoyable to watch the brigade working
Went to LA PIADA - Gastronomia in the Nanjing-Sanmin area today. They specialize in piadas, an Italian flatbread “wrap-like” sandwich. It was good and worth a visit. I wasn’t blown away by anything, but it was a nice lunch in outdoor seating, which was great with the sunny weather today.
La piada is very decent, albeit a tad expensive imho. I go there often (as next to my office). Not necessarily the most traditional piadina or focaccia, I like the flavours.
It worked out to 500nt per person with the drink combo and service fee.
What I found really interesting was the owner’s wickedly good Mandarin. He gave a little intro of what a piada is and some recommendations, all in Mandarin. I spoke to him in English but he seemed to prefer Mandarin, so we kind of switched back and forth for all our brief exchanges.
Anyway, I recommend it, especially if you’re in the area (like you seem to be). I would probably go once a month or so if I was in the area. It’s good enough for that, especially if you want to try a few different things on their menu. The piada style pizza (what whatever they called it) seemed interesting.
William (the owner) has been in Taiwan for a long time, married to a TW lady. He knows his trade. Too bad he supports AC Milan haha (I am an Inter Milan fan).
next time try the pecorino wine (bottle bottom left), or the very good vermentino from Sardinia (second bottom shelf, middle bottle with the lady in the pic)
I ordered La Piada over Uber today and it took quite a long time past the estimate. Anyway, when it finally showed up I enjoyed it and they included a free piece of banana cake with a nice note of apology due to the delay. I enjoyed the food, but bravo for the customer service.
It filmed some months ago, the episode aired only this week.
imho not the real state of those 3 restaurants, Cantina (the winner) is not bad and has great steaks, but won’t put it anywhere near Aroma and la mole.
