Yep. It’s that time again, where the ‘nutcases’ come out and create holiday cheer. You know ‘those’ people, the ones who put $100US dollars in the Salvation Army buckets. Or the gold coins(always in Chicago). Or go around paying for people’s fares and such.
Here’s one story

Mysterious Christmas cash
A woman hopped aboard buses, greeted passengers with “Merry Christmas” and handed each an envelope containing a card and a US$50 bill before stepping off and repeating the process on another bus. She did it so quickly that descriptions of the woman varied among surprised Spokane Transit Authority passengers on several routes on Thursday. “She kind of kept her head down. I don’t remember ever seeing this lady before,” bus driver Max Clemons said. Transit authority spokesman Dan Kolbet said efforts to identify the gift-giver were unsuccessful.[/quote]
Stories like this make me just cry. (I’m a sentimental fool
) Anyone else have heartwarming stories to tell about the holiday cheer in your country or better yet, that happened to you?
A few years ago in Melbourne, Australia, I was heading out to meet some friends at a club for a Xmas Eve party. As I was walking down the road, about 2 blocks from the club, midnight arrived and it became Xmas. The few people who were driving were honking horns, the people walking were shaking hands, hugging and wishing Merry Xmas to strangers.
And then half a block farther along, one guy reached out to shake my hand, wished me Merry Xmas, and with his other hand swung at me, his fist making contact with the side of my head. He then reached into my pocket, grabbed my wallet and ran off.
What was worse, was that there was a guy who witnessed it, and then told me the same thing had just happened to him. Well thanks for the warning, pal.
So, now I had no money, the bouncers at the club wouldn’t let me in for free to find my friends so I could borrow cash off them, and I ended up having to walk 7km home to my apartment at 2am.
But that’s probably not the story you’re looking for.
