The SA police is actually doing something? Maybe there is hope!
it sucks. I once got threatened by Dragon Recruiters. I called some South-Africans whose CVs were lying in my bosses office. I know Sas are low on cash, and also know that Dragon Recruiters charge you so much more than you need to, plus they charge my boss…so I called them and told them they can come to Taiwan without a recruiter.
next moment I almost get fired from my school because Dragon Recruiters was threatening my boss, and then I started getting phonecalls…
last time I ever tried to help a stranger!!!

That really sucks. I came here with Dragon Recruiters 4 years ago. I can attest to what you’re saying. I was horrified when I discovered that my boss had to pay them NT$60 000 in recruiting fees and use his crappy books that he wrote 'cos he claims he trains the new teachers to use his materials (which is absolute nonsense).
But when I made a stink about it and they “tried” to threaten me, I threatened to go to the SA Bureau of standards and make a complaint at the SA Liaison Office in Taipei. They soon stopped their crap. Funny enough, a year later his assistant called my school again and asked them if they needed a new teacher, so he said no.
When threatened, get the Law on your side. Don、t let some cheap punk walk all over you. And if the Law wont help, do them harm before they do you harm (nice and quietly with no witnesses, of course).
Is this what this thread is about…threats by an “english teacher” recruiting company?
My how the world has changed…
The Saga continues. Breaking and entering, theft, stalking and harassment have become part of our lives. In fourteen days or fewer, the culprit will be chewing peanuts in economy. The only thing is that no charge has been laid against him yet. How can I lay a formal charge against him in SA?
