I miss mah Ting!

Appleton’s & Ting…thats living[/quote]

TC You do know your ‘Ting.’

I dropped by a few days ago.

The patties are smallish (you need a few if you want to fill up) but damned tasty. The salad was great, with some mint leaves and things making it different to the normal stuff. Alot of the interesting looking drinks (sorrel etc) were not available, but the fruit punch was exceptionally good - made with pulped tropical fruits, lemon juice etc. I winced a bit as I saw the guy pouring grenadine in (most places slosh far too much grenadine in when they use the stuff), but he poured it with a very light hand and made sure it complemented the fruit tastes rather than overpowering them.

The small menu (not much on offer besides the patties) means its more a simple cafe than a restaurant. Definitely recommended though.

They need to get some rum on the menu though - preferably something decent.

I think someone here must be listening to you. I went to lunch there today and the waiter mentioned that they are working at adding some alcoholic drinks to the menu, and I spotted a bottle of rum up on the shelf.

It’s a pleasant little place with a few outside tables on the front patio which are perfect for the nice weather we’re having lately. They have three kinds of patty: regular, curry and veggie. They have two set meals, both with choice of two patties, and soup or salad. The second set meal adds a choice of drink. For those on the go they also offer 6 and 12 packs of patties at a special price.

I had a set meal with two regular patties, salad, and a Carib Carrot drink. Everything was quite tasty and I should be going back again. I also got a six pack of patties to go.

My wife and I stopped here last night and she had two veggie patties and I had one each of the curry and spiced meat patties. We split a salad (quite nice) and each had a bowl of soup (outstanding pumpkin soup). We also each had a lovely fruit punch. Everything was delicious. The patties were good and the dipping sauce (scotch pepper and fruit mix) was exceptional. Very cozy sitting outside listining to the feel-good reggae music and enjoying the view.

We took six patties back to the eating machine (our boy) and he seemed to enjoy them very much, especially the curry patties.

Oh, the owner/s seemed like very nice folks. Give this place a try!

I’ve heard this place has closed their doors.
Can anyone confirm/deny that?

The last two times I stopped by they were closed, but I don’t know if they were permanently closed or I just came at a bad time.

Yeah, they’ve closed. Quite a while now.
