I will be so on that ferry, once I get the chance. Always want to hop from Taiwan to those Japanese islands.

I’ve been following the news regarding the opening of this ferry route for a while.

I recall some talk if this several years ago also but nothing ever happened.
I wonder if China has anything to do with it.
“One of the four vessels is deployed around Yonaguni Island in Japan’s Okinawa Prefecture, the westernmost tip of Japan; one between Yonaguni Island and the Philippines”.
Recently I read that China plans to attack from the Eastern side, as per US war games simulation. Not lovely.

For this to work, the PLA would need to take out the US bases in Okinawa. I agree that would not be a lovely scenerio.

And the Diaoyutais is off and on all the time.
The trials were previously announced as starting this month, but I can’t find any updated news on the internet. Anyone else have any luck?
