Hello everyone
Valentine’s day is coming and I am looking for a good Japanese food restaurant to go . I would like a place that is around 1200ntd per person and good food. Any suggestions？

Cuisine M is just slightly above your price. The lowest price set meal is $1,800 on a regular day but on Valentine’s day it will for certain be more expensive. If you can cheat by a day or two before or after the 14th you will save a lot of money. Of course you could always order off the menu to lower the cost.
Dozo has a nice atmosphere and I’m sure you could meet your price range. Sorry but the original post in Dozo’s thread was cut during one of the site upgrades so there isn’t much information.
Expect any restaurant in Taipei to raise their prices (some dramatically) on Valentine’s Day for special set meals.
The REgents Japanese restaurant is pretty cool and ninja like.
But the Brother hotels japanese restaurant in the basement has probably better food.

I like Dojo for going out with a group of friends on a friday evening. The food is quite good and I like the shows (Japanese drums and a singer). But I wouldn’t recommended it for a Valentine’s Date. It’s just to big and to noisy, not romantic at all. Unless of course you get one of the private rooms on second floor. But my guess would be that they’re all booked out by now.

I highly recommend Masa on Civic.
I’ll double down on your bet. I’ve been to the $10,000+ places on Linshen North. They are great for authentic. But for quality/value no one beats Masa in Taipei.
I hear you rosarot. But maybe that is the intention. What I mean to say is that many don’t want to give the wrong signal by making things too romantic on the first couple of dates. They need safer choices. I’ve been in the situation as I expect you have too. If you take your date to Villa 32 you are saying you are going to be married or more eloquently, you are already married.
