Japanese Whisky in Kaohsiung

I am looking for a reliable shop that sells Japanese Whisky by the bottle in Kaohsiung. In particular, I am after Nikka Single malts. I found them in an expensive department store in Taipei but they must be available somewhere here in Kaohsiung too right? Any help much appreciated.

Could try asking at Drunken Master whisky bar. Besides a bar, there is a small retail shop there.

If you happen to be in Taipei again, I’d give these guys a call

Do they sell another way?

Whiskey bars are everywhere, just walk around and have a sip and inquire.

Thank you. Someone got it right.

They sell it in glasses in bars but I am looking for a shop. Was hoping there might be some recommendations.

WhiskEy is how you spell it in the US. Whisky from Scotland and Japan never uses the ‘E’.

The main difference between scotch and whisky is geographic, but also ingredients and spellings. Scotch is whisky made in Scotland, while bourbon is whiskey made in the U.S.A, generally Kentucky. Scotch is made mostly from malted barley, while bourbon is distilled from corn.

Yeah, I’m on a learning curve. lol It just tickled me that Conor McGregor’s “Whisky” isn’t.

What exactly are you looking for? A basic NAS Yoichi or Miyagikyo should be easy to find. The distillery-only editions find their ways onto the shelves of Taiwanese specialist retailers, but expect to pay a premium.
