Mayor Hu must be somewhat embarrassed. Thai women aren’t held in high esteem in Taiwan to begin with, and for his daughter to play a Thai hooker (who, it turns out, is actually a man!) must be awkward for him… 
Anyway, it’s not like she does any acting. She stands in her lingerie in front of Hugh Grant, who apparently “ordered” her before he realized he could score with a pudgy Rene Zellweger. She’s got a pretty nice figure (34B, 23, 35), but she needs more screen time to determine whether or not she’s got any acting skills… I’ll post a pic when (if) I can find one…

I’m thinking she’s pretty brave, actually. That’s because, imo and based on the pics Maoman posted, she really kinda looks like one of those ‘girls’ I saw once in Pattaya, Thailand, at the strip show (or silicone/duct-tape convention, whatever).

BTW, why did she sit in the front row at the Golden Horse Festival? Oh yeah, because her Daddy is mayor of Taizhong. Not because she played a tiny, little role in some movie…

I’m not being critical of anyone here… I’m just thinking out loud (figuratively, of course)…
I always wonder why people feel a need to opine that some other person is ugly.
I’ve met a number of Forumosans, and while all of them are attractive and none are ugly… why is it that when we are asked to opine on the hotness of a person, particularly of the female kind, so many feel it necessary to say “ugly”. I notice that this need seems to be felt by both male and female posters.
Just wondering.

I don’t know, Tigerman, probably for the same reason people like to talk about how good-looking some people are. Don’t tell me you’ve never been hanging out with a group of guys checking out the girls and had a discussion about the relative hotness of the women. Girls do it, too - talking about how cute or ugly certain guys are.
As long as the person being talked about is out of earshot it’s harmless. Especially celebrities - if you put yourself in the public eye, you have to expect to get talked about. That’s the point of being famous, ain’t it? Anyway, I highly doubt the lady in question surfs Forumosa.

Sure, I frequently comment about how attractive a girl/woman looks. I just tend not to comment about unattractive features. What’s the point in that?
And to be perfectly honest, knowing that I am nothing to look at, I would be embarrassed to say someone else is unattractive.
My dear mother always said to me… “if you can’t say something nice about someone, don’t say anything at all.”
I suppose if you start it - “Hey, look at how ugly that girl is” - there’s no point. And pretty nasty.
But when someone else starts it by saying, “She’s really hot!” and I disagree, “Nah, she ain’t that hot,” that’s just me disagreeing with your taste in women. Fair game.
