Jazz or Wine in Taipei

I know there is the Brown Sugar…any other places that don’t cost as much?

Thanks,

Bacchus, which has its own thread in this forum. Do a search.

Thanks Yellow Cartman…

search baccus?

I’m looking for a place that serves good wine…not too expensive. What about corking fees here? Can you bring your own bottle in to a restaurant here for a corking fee?

Hi Jeff,

I think the [url=http://tw.forumosa.com/t/wine-tasting-club/18172/2 Fuxing N. Road isn’t too expensive. There’s a number of write ups about it and the Sommelier in Tienmu here.

Most places will have corkage fees if you BYOB. If you’re looking for a place with good wine, I’d suggest [url=http://tw.forumosa.com/t/mesa-grill-taipei-food-service/19154/1 Grill[/url] on Li Shui Street, next to Li Shui Alleycat’s. Chef Maggie has a very good selection of wines. Not sure what you consider “not too expensive” but I think it’s pretty reasonable and average in Taipei.

Bobwundaye (see separate thread in this forum) is a small cozy bar with “wine night” every Tuesday (house wine at NT$100 per glass on Tuesday, NT$150 other nights). It also has several good reasonably priced wines by the botttle.
