Jenin - Massacre or no massacre?

What is a massacre?

Was the Israeli invasion of Jenin a massacre? The Israeli government and press say no because only a few dozen Palestinians were killed. As I recall when Al Capone’s hit men executed 7 of Bugs Moran’s boys in 1929 it was dubbed the “Valentine’s Day Massacre”. What actually constitutes a massacre? Honestly I think the whole thing is just more distraction that moves us away from the critical issue which is occupation. Lastly, even if it is not technically a “massacre”, isn’t it still a horrible act. Look at the photos of the place. It has been completely leveled.

p.s. our lovely friends at dictionary .com define it as,
mas

Massacre I guess…

Looks like Isreali troops finally let UN peeps in. They say the smell of decaying bodies is very strong. Looks like they just bulldozed the homes even if people were still inside…

Would you say the dozens of suicide bombers that have killed numerous Israelis in the last 19 months committed a massacre also?

Sure…to me a massacre is where many people die. Your definiation may vary…

Lastly, even if it is not technically a “massacre”, isn’t it still a horrible act.

It’s self-defense under the excuse of “War against terrorism”.

Not that I agree to that …
