I just recently bought a book called The Practice of English Language Teaching by Jeremy Harmer. Any of you read it before. I think it is a very good book. So much good information in there.

Any comments on this book?

have it, but haven’t gotten to it yet. brown’s “teaching by principles”, and u-r’s “a course in language teaching” may also interest you.

for more theory, try richards and rodgers: “approaches and methods in language teaching”, or larson-freeman’s “techniques and principles in language teaching”.

working on tudor’s “the dynamics of the language classroom” now …

EDIT evidently the name u-r still spells incorrectly :s

Harmer’s is okay, but I prefer Scrivener’s ‘Learning Teaching’ (Macmillan) which is more accessible and has just been expanded.
