Joining a farmers' association questions

Has any foreigner actually joined one? Can foreigners join them?

I talked the the Capo di Capo of Taiwanese hydroponics today and he was explaining things to me. From what he said you have to own 1000m2 or rent 2000m2 of land, then you can qualify to join. Basically he said it means you can sell at the wholesale markets as they don’t allow individual sellers in only farmers’ associations. He said I couldn’t join because I wasn;t a foreigner with ROC nationality. :ponder: :roflmao:

He says it only costs around $300 for membership fees and the farmers association takes care of everything, so where does the money for the other marketing, transport etc. come from?

Any insight on these?

I read the old post: Farm associations 101
and Michael Turton’s blog article on this, but that doesn’t deal with joining them. I can use a proxy, I just don’t want someone to have that over my head.
