:canada: :America: :Europe: :uk: - hope to see you all there…

Being in charge of the cooking and the Beer for this event I went out to the beach last Sunday for the last committee meeting before the event. It is absolutely fantastic out there, a lot of efforts have been made and for sure this is going to be one of the greatest events this year. The music, the food the Taiwan Gold Medal Draught Beer all make this an event you do not want to miss.

Sounds great! :canada:

Don’t forget to come over and shoot pucks at us over at the CIHL booth!

This is rain or shine right?

It has not rained on the last week of June in this area in 30 years, it will probably rain that weekend in Taipei but that area has been hot and sunny this week.

The event is rain or shine. ICRT will have weather updates on the area. If you want to hear info on the event ICRT is also giving lots of information all week about Canada Déh.

Cheers!

Do you mean the last buses will NOT stop at Hongshulin MRT, or anywhere else, but will just go straight to Luxy? Because I live in Zhuwei, and I want to stay until the end, because that’s when ABS will play. But I need to know that I’ll be able to get back home afterwards. Won’t do me any good to end up at Luxy. If I get dropped off at Hongshulin after MRT hours, I can get a cab for cheap, and it makes no sense to go into Taipei.

So, can you please clarify whether those last 8 buses will indeed stop at Hongshulin?

Thanks.

You can ask the bus driver to stop at the MRT, we did the same thing in 2005 with buses back to Carnegies and some guests will want to get off at the MRT, also there should be some taxis hanging around the event too, there was last time.

Great to know, thanks! I’ll pass the word to the rest of the gang who’s going.

Sounds great, I will also post weather updates later today from the area Taipei has been a little wet but it has been hot out there…

Hey, if your talking about Chuwei down here by the Airport in Taoyuan, I live there. I’ll be driving up for the event and could offer a ride. Let me know.

You’re very kind to offer, but it’s the one on red line right before Hongshulin Station.

Forumosans, There will be buses at 11pm that go to the Hongshulin Station after that the go directly to Luxy but everybody is guaranteed a lift. Also an update from the site, it is all getting into shape with tents, stage, etc. errected. Refrigerators getting filled up with Food, Ice-Cream and most and foremost with Taiwan Gold Medal Beer and Smirnoff Ice. I was just on with the head of the organizing committee, Kevin Dempsey who is telling me that the weather is still now bright and they still hae sunshine whilst I am looking at a grey sky here downtown. Save 20% on the entrance fee, go to the Tavern-Premier, Capones or many other places and get your tickets for what is going to be the mother of all parties. See you out on the Beach on Saturday.

Weather has been great there, hot and sunny now. ICRT will have current updates on the radio.

Raining and yucky in Zhuwei right now. Who knows what tomorrow will bring?

So? How was it? Unfortunately, I was working from morning til night… :frowning:

I thought it was a great day out. A big thanks to the CST and Pierre Loisel for a great day in a beautiful spot. Good burgers, dogs and sudz by the Tavern crew and Taiwan Beer and great music, especially by David Foster, who sadly will be leaving soon. A big thanks to everyone who had a hand in organizing/volunteering at the event. :bravo: :bravo: :bravo:

I just got back from the event, just over 3,000 were there but it was way too hot in the afternoon, we wish there was some rain!! I think everyone had a good time there though although some people left early because of the heat.

There was a 30 min fireworks show, the bands were great and the Tavern did an awesome job on the food, if anyone was there and has comments positive or negative we would love to hear them so we can improve for next time.

If anyone lost anything there you can PM me as we have some items of value that were left behind.

Happy Canada Day!

One of my friends had just one of her shoes stolen (why just one?) when she was down by the water. If you happen to have one small-sized shoe without a mate, let me know, K?

Thanks to all who chipped in to put on the event, and especially thanks for getting ABS to play!
