Justin Bieber

Justin Bieber’s concert held in Taipei the other day was only 60 min while the sponsoring company claimed the concert would be 120 min. Reason is he caught a cold. Some audience protested hard to the sponsoring company on the spot. If anyone still thinks he’s super, he/she is out of mind supporting a person who didn’t bird Taiwanese people’s rights 不鳥台灣人的權益。

While in the forum, please switch off your phones and biebers.

Thank you.

Ah yes. Indeed! EYE for WUN most DEFINITALACIOUSLY bird the rights of the glorious Taiwanese people. I bird YOU! I bird THEM! There is in point of fact NOBODY to whom I do not offer my bird. Salaciously, in fact, in the case of Jimipresley.
Laugh at the daft wee manufactured twat all you like, but let me tell you THIS!
When EYE was close to coming of age, we sophisticated Slade and Black Sabbath-lovers used to chuckle at the teenies and their idolization of… Little Jimmy Osmond. And let me tell you THIS! Justin Beiber is infinitely preferable to Jimmy Osmond and his “Long-haired Lover from Liverpool.”
Every generation needs a nice, safe, non-threatening, shiny nutsacked little pre-pube for its pre-pube daughters to safely swoon to. The Beiber fits the bill perfectly.
True. My coworker was there, with her daughter and a friend of her daughter’s. No wonder Bieber outsold Rain (the Korean singer): so many parents were dragged along this affair to make sure their little teeny boopers were safe.

She says she was actually impressed the little kid could really sing and actually play. Could be worse, I guess. In our good times it was Menudo…

Well, actually I was a big fan of Los Chicos, not Menudo -nor Los Chamos. From Los Chicos, up to this day, we have Chayanne. Man still sings, but boy can he dance and he’s a looker.

From the Mexican Timbiriche we have Thalia, which you guys may like.

And the only creepy thing is when you remember that was like more than 30 years ago… you feel your knees going crackle and pop.

So give the Bieber 20 or 30 years. If he’s still on, we’ll talk.

Bieber is not as manufactured as the typical tween heartthrob. He really can play several muscial instruments, he writes his own songs, and he can sing fairly well. Maybe when he grows up he’ll actually continue on with a real career. Much like Leonardo DiCaprio - dismissed by many when he was a teenager as just a teen heartthrob, but now a respected actor.

Ah, good to hear that. Sincerely, haven’t paid much attention to this fellow. I tune out any music done after 1999…

I can’t wait to hit Justin Beaver’s beach in my speedos.

There’s something disturbing about that.

Thanks for using 不鳥 in a sentence. I’ve seen that quite a lot but have never known what it means.

Anyway, where you there at the concert, or did you read a media report? As you know, the media in Taiwan (and in many other countries), likes to distort the truth.

I was at the concert last night with my wife and our little girl, who loves “Justin 哥哥” (Big brother Justin), and there are a few points that should be clarified here.
-The concert was actually 90 minutes long. He did two songs in the encore. That’s pretty standard for most bands from the USA. There was a warm-up DJ who performed for 20-30 minutes. That makes the whole thing about 120 minutes long.
-I think there was no intention at all to offend Taiwanese people. JB was obviously intent on connecting with his fans and gave them a very high quality show. He interacted very well with the audience, and showed them a lot of love, I thought. If he was just going through the motions, he would not have done the encore or jumped around so much.
-He doesn’t have a cold. He has bronchitis. That’s a bacterial infection and will really destroy someone’s energy. It’s much worse than a cold.
-He was late, indeed. That was disappointing to my little girl and to other fans, but I think his concert management people let him down on that one. They should have just told the crowd: “JB is sick with a serious illness but will be here as soon as he possibly can.” They didn’t tell the crowd the reason for the delay. They just had the DJ fire everyone up and then said: “We’ll do an intermission now.” After the intermission, they started a 15 minute countdown, after which JB did appear, and with great energy. After his second song, he apologized for being late and explained that he has bronchitis but that he decided to push through it and do the show.

I like all kinds of music and, while I’m not really a fan of his type of music, I think we have to give this young guy some credit. He was obviously sick as hell, you could see him breathing heavily and hear it in his voice, but he went out and really put his energy into the show. He danced all over the place, ran around, put his heart into his performance. And he’s pretty good, for such a young fellow.

I thought his decency came through too. Sure, he’s coached and trained to put forth the right image, but I’m pretty perceptive about people, and this kid wasn’t faking it. He was there because he wanted to be, and he’s nice kid, despite being so rich and famous.

I don’t think he owes anyone any further apology. Some people just like to find reasons to feel offended. I think 99% of the people there were very happy in the end, and my little girl is still really excited about seeing him in person (we were in the front section, row nine).

You’re very welcome. It can also be an adjective meaning ‘lousy’ for matters or ‘cowardly’ for people.

I wasn’t there. I mentioned what the audience siad: n.yam.com/view/mkvideopage.php/20110516963480

That’s why I’m pissed off with him.

The audience also complained JB put on a long slide show in the middle, which they were not quite happy with.

This I believe he did his best.

I believe this translation deviation caused quite some fuss.

I think the audience deserve partial refund, and the sponsor should negotiate with JB’s agency regarding this possibility, but which I don’t think will ever happen unless the sun rises up from the west.

Maybe you’re right. That’s the most important part.

Another closet teenybopper hiding his passion behind the old: “I only went to accompany my kid” schtick.

I agree with this. I ain’t accompanying no teeny bopper of mine to a Justin Bieber concert. I’m waiting outside in the car :snooty: .
At least Justin Bieber actually put on the show when he was sick. Michael Jackson was known for cancelling shows altogether when he was sick and being sued for not offering a full refund.
Why are adults discussing Justin Bieber :loco: .

Even ThreadKiller didn’t go see him. That just goes to show…

Just saw this video and thought it was a good commentary on how to get famous nowadays:

See, there are 17-year-olds and 17-year-olds. There’s your Justin Biebers, who make their millions on dubious credentials or nice hair, and then there are your 17-year-olds who can actually walk the walk. THIS is a 17-year-old who walks the walk. I would pay GOOD money to see this guy. I wouldn’t take money from Justin Bieber or Lady Gaga to sniff the steam off my piss. Well, Yeah, I would – money is money – but you know what I mean.

Don’t you DARE try telling me I discount young performers. I only discount the hacks. I would give my EYE fucking TEETH to be on stage with this child.

seems like a douchebag version of Bieber

Well count me in as a douchebag, then, because I agree with señor silica. Bieber is to Nutini as shit is to shinola, you ask me. I suspect that if Bieber had spent more of his 17 years working on things musical rather than things a-Twitter, then the gap between them might not be so obvious.

I just wish he’d sing in English rather than Italian. …That was Italian, right? :ponder:
