Kaohsiung burger wars

Burger Patty, nicer now after renovation

Thank you for your continued support and for taking the time to share your experience. We’re glad to hear that you’ve enjoyed our burgers, fries, and service on multiple visits.

We’re sorry to hear that your last visit was not up to your expectations. We take your feedback seriously and have already made improvements to the space. We’ve refreshed the outdoor area, and ensured that we’re using greenery that naturally helps repel mosquitoes—such as Cuban oregano (Coleus amboinicus) , which we already have in place. We’ve also taken additional measures to make the dining environment more comfortable.

Regarding the unfortunate incident with a passerby, we understand how that could have affected your experience. While we can’t control what happens in public areas, we are committed to maintaining a clean and welcoming atmosphere for our guests so we built a new fence to hide the outside “charming” environment.

By the way, if you don’t want Doritos in your burger, just let us know! Like everything we make here, our burgers can be customized to your taste—whether it’s swapping mayonnaise for ketchup or adjusting other ingredients. One thing that won’t change is our commitment to quality: we will always make our own bread and homemade mayonnaise. Our bacon is real smoked and homemade, and we use farm-fresh brown eggs. For those wondering what makes a burger “French” here—our touch is in the bread and the mayonnaise. We use sunflower oil for fries, the beef is 100% meat, sourced from America without any fillers, the pork is 100% meat, sourced from Taiwan without any fillers. And yes, hamburgers are originally American, but we simply add a French touch!

We appreciate your past visits and hope that you’ll reconsider giving us another chance. We’d love for you to see the improvements firsthand.

Best regards,
The FABAO Burgershop Team

It’s really nice to see a boss that gives a shit. Although it won’t work for mosquitoes, the effort of writing the botanical name for a plant used in mosquito repellent for an online review shows a commitment I respect  Based on that level of care, we will be popping by next time we are in kaohsiung

Keep up the hard work.

Your food sounds good and you should explain the difference in the menu none of that was clear to me previously.

Your lotus lake location garden was the pits , glad some effort had finally been made there after at least two years because I refused to go back after my first visit. I guess we will visit again now before it gets too hot.

I understand many foreign owners don’t have much capital or access to capital it’s an added constraint here.

Lemongrass should work and grows like a weed in Taiwan. Not sure what else would be good to plant in this climate

i will go to buy lemon grass this week end.

Thank you again for your words, I didn’t know this forum until I made Fabao website last week. (fabao.tw)
As I made the site from scrap and didn’t know anything about Html or SEO. So when I try to referenced the site on google, I’ve found out about this page, and the post about your last experience there.
Well, I was pissed at first but then I thought ok the place is not reflecting what we are trying to do here so got the job done. Also, I’m not always there as there is a new location in Sanmin.
Last things it’s funny that this thread is named “Burger wars” because actually we all know each other, and some of us are very good friends.
I think, I should add a suggestion paper at each restaurants if someone wants to give one, and I’ll do my best to make it happen.

PS:
Some people asked me for those Fabao t-shirt ( cool design and awesome quality), I’ll have them ready in 10 days.

We also often make collaborations with others businesses, if anyone want to join, feel free to contact me via FB. The last one was great and we were giving plant away from MC (succulent plant supplier in Nanzi)

It won’t work either, but is nice enough as landscape.

No plant will work for mosquitoes, the essential oils in them that do work are not being emmited into the air 24/7, nor at a great enough distance, not at a concentration that takes into fresh air exchange and nor would the plant live if they were to cknstantly exude their oils. It’s just a romantic idea too many repeat online, it won’t work. Their oils, when burned or applied directly to the person will work. After maybe 50cm away from the plant, the mosquitoes don’t care. If anything the moisture of the garden will attract more

Save your money for vaporized oils and/or smoke, plants actually do not work  but they are pretty.

In that space, this would probably make a difference

I remember they had coils, anything more wouldn’t ork in that space

I also visited and enjoy Macrons

Never been. But basically you need something hitting the leaves, slightly stressing and breaking them to release the oils and no wind to blow them away. It’s a really fun idea, but not practical. Putting drops of various types of oil on a burner does work, as do coils and the like, be them natural or more lab made.

Don’t shoot the messenger. Placebo is a thing outside medicine :hugs:

Didn’t mean to hijack. I was more commenting on that guys response shows he clearly gives a fuck and is trying hard to improve. That’s the style of owner I am willing to support

It’s not only mosquitoes that are the problem but also Xiao Hei Wen. Taiwan can be tricky for outdoor dining.
