Now personally, I haven’t clue one about who this gal is, but her story is on every news service I’ve checked this AM. So it must be important and I must be out of it.

She was the first winner of the American Idol show. Sounds like her 15 minutes are finally ticking down.

I haven’t bothered to look at the link because she looks nowt special but was this a tour of Iraq, arranged on the assumption that the brilliantly conceived ‘surge’ should be working by now?

Never heard of her.

On the other hand, the NYT had a piece this morning on Paul McCartney who just played a gig to an enthusiastic audience in an intimate setting of 700 in New York, following a similar gig in London – though he could still pack a stadium after all these years – as promotion for his latest album (which will surely sell more than all of Kelly Clarkson’s albums combined).

She’s the 1st American Idol winner, but you knew that already as it’s already mentioned.
After winning Idol she made a movie “From Justin to Kelly”,a commerical bomb.
Now, she’s having it out with Clive Davis (famed producer to Whitney Houston,Alicia Keys, etc) because of 'creative differences" over her latest record. He’s not someone to butt heads with in the industry :no-no:.

Otherwise, she’s a really good singer. For a pop artist, that is. :s
