When traveling with young children who love to crawl on the floor, discover every nook and cranny and manage to find that 2,000 year old Cheeto left by earlier guests, staying in any hotel usually gave me the creeps. Recently, we managed to find hotels that were family friendly which to my mind is clean and safe! I’d like to share the hotels we enjoyed. Please share yours here too.
Taidong- The Kindness Hotel, No.16 Lane 209, Section 1, Zhongxing Road, Taidong, Taiwan
Pros
[ul][li]Choose Japanese style rooms. Provides clean wooden floor, beds are on the floor so there is no fear of children falling off the bed. We chose two beds for 4 young children and two adults. [/li]
[li]Late evening meal (noodle bar) You select your noodles. They cook it up for you. You can pick many different toppings. There is also a decent selection of other foods as well. Lots of fresh fruit and a salad bar. [/li]
[li]Chinese Style breakfast - Rice porridge, eggs, meat steam-buns and a decent selection of other things.[/li]
[li]Free Bicycle Rental - Very close to Taidong Forest Park. In fact there is a bicycle only trail located three blocks away that can take you directly to the forest park. Park has extensive bike trails and family friendly playgrounds. [/li]
[li]Free 24 hour Coffee/Ice cream bar. The lobby lounge also provides free internet connected computers[/li][/ul]
Con
[ul][li]The only minus found was the fact that the center of the each floor was cut out so you have a balcony where you can see down to the lobby. I felt the banister should be higher, the bars should be closer together or covered in glass like it is for the banister located in the dining area (2nd floor).[/li][/ul]
Pro or con: you decide.
[ul][li]The wait staff and help were very helpful. Too helpful for a rude New Yorker like me. They wanted to know if you wanted to use the elevator, they’d run to push the button for you. If you wanted to use the stairs, they’d run to open the door for you. [/li][/ul]
Our extended family took three rooms and we were very happy. This is more than I usually would say.
