I’m thinking about Kinmen at CNY. Has anyone gone during this time of the year?
The only cons I can think of are the hordes of people and the cold weather.

I don’t know if crowds would be a problem. CNY is a time people spend with families, not go on vacation. Your worst problem would be the weather, and the high probability of having flight delays and being stuck there if it fogs in.
I’ve only been there in the warmer months, but I’ve been to Matsu in the colder months and it was miserable. Bone-numbing, wet, cold.
If you are going to go around on a scooter, it would really suck.
