My kitten won’t drink from it’s saucer anymore. It drinks from the tap, licks the sink surface, drinks from cups, and even tries to get at the kettle. But she won’t touch her damn saucer. What am i doing wrong here?
you might try washing it out really well or moving it somewhere else.
Break its neck and get a new one Tom. they are cuter when they are small anyway.
I’m kidding, honestly.
What I meant to say was break its neck and get a DOG, honestly Tom, man up!

The cuteness factor has diminshed as she has gotten longer.
I’m moving the saucer to a new location.

Our cat (Moguai) was the same in our old flat. We gave up and let him drink from the sink.

We then moved to another flat and took the opportunity to retrain him. After a few nights of loud meows we won and he now drinks from his cat bowl thing.
If this is the cat I’m thinking of, try putting its drink in an open whiskey bottle, that should do the trick…
And don’t forget to put that bottle in a brown paper bag, so the kitten really WILL behave like its namesake.
Get your hands on a bunch of clean stones, or small seashells, use a clear water dish and put the stones/seashells in the dish and cover with water. The cat will be fooled to think it’s not his water dish, and he may drink out of it. Keeping water in the sink like irishstu works, too.
Cats are unbelievably stupid critters. If you can’t outsmart them, then… well, there’s not much hope for humanity, is there now?
Thanks for that, that sounds like real advice. That and moving the tray.
I don’t want her in the sink. She uses a litter tray and her paws are still too dirrrrty for Tom’s liking.
To Dragonbones: The duality is too confusing. Stick to being either ‘good cop’ or ‘bad cop.’ And fyi shorty, cats are too smart for words.
