When I was 16 I was in a park in the UK when I was jumped by some random chavs who knocked out two of my teeth. This is not what Europe has become, it’s always had dodgy arseholes that are spoiling for a fight. What a stupid comment.
More followers and money for her.
That’s what happens when you import the third world.
There are a lot of new arrivals that culturally regard women as slightly above livestock.
I mean, you can cherry-pick specific types of crime and tell any story you want, but overall, crime is down in the UK:
All these bloody foreigners bringing misogyny to the UK!
If you look at our crime graphs during the mutual time frame (2006-2011) they cover the results are the same: reported crimes have declined.
In Britain, a significant number of crimes go unreported, with factors including lack of trust in law enforcement, fear of reprisal, and the perception that reporting won’t make a difference. The Crime Survey for England and Wales estimates that only around 40% of crimes are reported to the police.
That’s true , not immigration but who you let immigrate.
My mate is a copper. When he is on shift, he is often the senior officer on duty in a medium sized city. Let us just say that these figures should be taken with a grain of salt. Knife crime in the city center was in the news, so they put more officers in the center. The crime just moved. I asked him about the area where we grew up. He said they dont get many calls but when they do, it is serious. People not reporting and dealing with issues themselves. Every time a car is broken into, my local facebook group blows up with pics asking for people to identify the dickheads in pics so they can trace the stuff themselves. They know that all they get from the police is a crime number.
Really true.
I kind of agree, but then I am not living in Europe right now. Criminals and violence have been around forever.
I feel Taiwan is paradise when it comes to feeling safe virtually everywhere. Cannot think of a single, off-limit dangerous neighborhood where you should not go.
Stories like these make you worry, and then you go there, and it’s mostly peaceful. Well, I will find out next month.
Taiwan feels safe because it takes immigration enforcement seriously. If a foreigner commits a serious crime here, they’re not protected, they’re deported as soon as their sentence is up. The laws are clear, and the government doesn’t hesitate to act. That’s a big reason why Taiwan remains peaceful compared to places that refuse to draw a line.
Go ahead, pull out a wad of cash in one hand and an iPad in the other, and walk past Taipei 101 at 2 a.m. You won’t even get a second glance. Now try doing the same thing near the Eiffel Tower at night, you’re more likely to get robbed and beaten to a pulp by a migrant gang before you even finish unlocking your screen.
Until it isn’t. Until you get mugged or stabbed yourself.
Im not sure about smaller areas but you would have to pay me to go to london these days. Total shit hole. Ive seen people mugged in broad daylight. And that was 10 years ago.
Im just not into the vibe anymore after living here for so long. Everyone seems so aggresive and on edge in a British town. In Taiwan its just chill. Even in a rough part of town like sanchong. I doubt I’ll ever move back.
I can confirm this is my experience. I also had my car broken into just to steal new Nikes I left in there, nothing was done. It happens so much. My GM had her kids bike stolen, they even had pictures from CCTV and the cops did nothing.
Don’t even think about driving a Range Rover in the UK, it will get stolen. I see posts about stolen range rovers all the time on Facebook. My driver that we use to pick us up at Heathrow was telling me how he tried to buy a Range Rover for his chauffeur business but many insurance wont cover it anymore or charge ridiculously high and make you put tracking on the car.
At the other end of the spectrum are the government officials here in rural Japan where I am currently. I’ve been having my attorney in Sapporo pay my annual property taxes for years but decided to start paying it myself to save some money. Went to the local city hall to try to pay after receiving my bill in the mail. Was told that I had to pay it at the local post office. The manager of the tax office walked four blocks with me to the post office and showed me how to pay, then walked me back to the city hall parking lot and asked if there was anything else he could help me with. I almost cried.
Being in Europe is tiring. Panic setting in trying to remember if you locked your car at random times. Reconsidering that parking spot because maybe it’s in a bad place or it’s too dark making it risky. Making sure you left nothing in a car that makes someone want to break in, I left a box of Nikes in the car overnight and it was broken into and stolen…
The constant stress of wondering if I should walk here at night. And as a man, I now get anxious if my gf is out in town alone because no where is safe. Stabbings and robberies now happen in town center.
It’s just not a nice experience daily.
I almost cried a few times in Japan in my 20s. It was always at theme-based clubs.
When you complain that things have gotten worse they tell you that you are mad, and that things have always been this way.
