Cost Co now has a Kirkland version of Macaroni and Cheese, if you are interested. I bought a box, it’s not bad, not as good as KD, but cures the craving.

What to bring to Taiwan

Candy. We’ve got Snickers, Riesen, Toblerone, M&M’s, Twix, Skittles, Hershey’s. If your favorite is not on the list you may want to bring a large supply. I’ve yet to see Instant mashed potatoes, but I heard that you can get it in Costco in Taipei. Last time to the States I brought back a 6 month supply. Most other “essentials” you can get here in special stores, but it may require a special trip if you don’t live near one. I have to make pilgrimages (just about 1.5 hours) to Jason’s Market…

2012 Costco thread

The Missus and I were at the Neihu branch and got another box of Idaho instant mashed potatoes for 97nt. A big box. My wife just a few moments ago, as she was going over the receipt, asked if we were out of the instant mashed potatoes. I said, “no.” “So you really like those mashed potatoes?” “yes” “They were a really good price.” “yes” Some things just don’t need to be expressed in more than one syllable.

Well, certain things aren’t exactly in logical places. Jason’s for example has instant mash and instant scallop potatoes in the baking section and tinned rhubarb next to the tinned tomatoes and beans… The baking supply shop I found near Jingan MRT station has the rye flour in the fridge… :loco: So yeah, you have to look around sometimes to find what you want.
