They had this for a some time, than retracted it for some reason. Now releasing again.
Indeed. Also, as far as I can tell before these thingies were only available for certain users: businesses that offer customers to charge, and users in areas with no battery charging stations. I didnāt check in detail yet, but it seems that finally they offer this for everyone. And as someone mentioned before as well, also my feeling is that itās because of the looming ionex.
I wonder what happens if you have the home charging station and stop paying the monthly subscription? Actually on that thought, how long is the monthly contract for? If you happen to get low on cash can you suspend it and get back onboard when you have the cash?
I think Gogoro is trying for the cellphone model, so I imagine it would be similar to a data plan.
The charging station is connected to the internet to their server.
Was thinking it seemed extremely expensive for just a charging station, although itās still extremely expensive for just a charging station with an internet connection! Iām sure someone will figure out how to charge the batteries without the phone home bit, probably have already.
Have to get around DRM somehow.
Contract is 12 months I believe. I think if you stopped paying, they would probably be able to disable your scooter. You should ask Gogoro and let us know, because now Iām curious if they can/would do that.
been driving wemo a couple times already this week. its great, and the bikes feel really fun to drive. these electric ones really do the job, what is the govt waiting for here? for the battery technology to improve or for gas scooter companyās to start the move over themselves? i think they could be doing more anyway. gogoro has already been out 4 years. i see no reason why in future most scooters in taipei shouldnāt be electric.
Blame Mayor Ko heās useless. Terrible disappointment. Hasnāt even designated electric scooter only parking zones.
The other mayors are useless also but that comes with the territory.
Sym and Kymco make most of their money from gasoline scootersā¦so do all the scooter shopsā¦so a lot of $$$ involved I assume.
Gogoro have just launched the goshare scheme in Taoyuan, canāt wait to try it in Taipei.
Agree completely. Useless mumbling monotone speaking fool.
if its as easy to use as we mo its going to turn even more people into believers.
and yea how hard is it to make a bunch of electric only parking spaces (to discourage gas) all you need is some paint.
ā¦ and people that enforce the electric parking only!
they use electric scooters for this. again, quite a simple thing. ride around on a scooter to the parking sports and give out some tickets. easy ass job! they just donāt want to deal with the complaints i guess. chabuduo-ism holding taiwan back from greatness as usual.
Look , I know @Brianjones struggles with his third tone but he is a dear friend and that is quite rude
They exist in some indoor/underground parking lots. Mostly for electric cars, but itās a good step forward.
iāve seen a handful out and about. basically they could be doing more, but for whatever reason they donāt want to. probably earning too much on the gas side to do anything meaningful.
Thatās quite funny put another beer on the tab .
I thought it may raise a giggle from you
As usual folks foul mouthed mumbling remoaner super nerd BrianJones has actually analysed the numbers for you before so you donāt have to guess .
