My girl and I had a very nice dinner last Saturday night at La Terrasse. The restaurant was spotlessly clean, very well decorated, and unmistakably French. The quiet music playing in the background, the beautiful flower arrangments and the overall design of the place made it easy to imagine that one was in Europe. I started out with frog legs in a mushroom sauce, which was delicious, and then had the lobster bisque, followed by lamb chops with mustard sauce. My better half had a wonderful seafood salad, with the lobster bisque and then duck a l’orange. The wine - some French white - was ok, but nothing special. After dinner we sat on the terrace finishing our wine and then moved on to coffee and dessert. Great coffee! It was strong - really strong - but delicious. The food was good, but the serving sizes were a little light on the light side. (Just a little…)
The damage for the two of us, including a bottle of wine, was $3,200NT.
La Terrasse is located at Minquan East Road, Section 3, Lane 160, Alley 19, #36 (in the lane behind the Swensen’s on Dunhua North). Their telephone number is 2717-2525.
YES! Excellent food and friendly service. Now that Muma is now longer in the area, they have the best steak in town. Furthermore, they have a nice patio area with about 6 tables outside.
You owe it to yourself to make a visit. Highly recommended! :bravo:
I’ve been to La Terrasse a few times both for lunch and dinner, and have always had a great feed there. Even with wine, the prices are very reasonable by Taipei standards. Needs more guests for better atmosphere though.
Nice cozy place with a set menu and seafood choice. The patio looked pretty and private so shall dine alfresco when the weather warms up.
Live singer sang some nice tunes.
Had a bottle of good gewurtz to go with the seafood. A complimentary glass of bubbly and bowl of French onion soup to ring in the new year, and a rose for the lady.
