I recently moved from Taiwan to Thailand for work, but intend to return, and visit, as often as possible.
I am coming to Taipei next week and intend to purchase a laptop. I would like English and Chinese language (to help with learning Chinese) and the Chinese keybaord, so will purchase it there. I also hope to get the 5% tax deducted, as is possible with purchases from dept stores.
Does anyone know of any computer or department stores which could sell a laptop with the English version, and do the admin to have the tax deducted at the airport.
If anyone has any recommendations about laptop brands (interantioanl warrenty etc), Chinese/English fonts etc I’d be interested, but have already read the other discussions on these.
If I can’t, I can purchase a laptop here without any software - and 5% tax back - but with a Thai keyboard. How difficult would it be to buy and load all the software in Taiwan (and put stickers on the keybaord)?
Would appreciate any info possible.
