Large undies in Taipei

Where can I …um, I mean my fat bastard friend, find large underwear? We’re talking Y-fronts, 40-42 inch waist. My friend hasn’t had any success finding them in Chiayi, so has turned in desperation to Taipei. Previously, all his undies were sent from New Zealand by his Mumsie.

Any stores with tent-sized underwear? Or does he need to make a few DIY diapers out of bed sheets?

Cheers

Ya, I would be also be interested in knowing this being a fat bastard myself. Currently, mumsie wumsie has to send me 2-3 packages each year from Canada.

I was unable to find a source for the desired apparel. However, not wanting to leave you empty-handed, I offer one treasure from my search – a “Big Underwear” song. Yeah, that’s right. Apparently it’s a teaching song for kids.

Enjoy,

“Big Underwear”
By Joe Scruggs

(Joe performs this song on Ants)
( songsforteaching.com/index.html )

Well, you wake up in the morning,
Stretch your arms in the air,
And then you put on your Big Underwear.
You take a step to your left, you take a
Step to your right,
Big Underwear is never too tight.

You bend at the waist and you touch your shoes,
With Big Underwear you’ve got room to move.
Jump up, sit down, “And everybody freeze,”
With Big Underwear you’ve got room to breathe.

Well, it’s Big Underwear and you sure are pleased.
You pull it up to your waist.
It hangs down to your knees.
You take a jump forward,
You take a step back.
Big Underwear is where it’s at.

Hop to the east, hop to the west,
Big Underwear, it’s just the best.
Now stop in your tracks, Mr. Troll’s over there.
“Don’t you just love my Big Underwear?”

Yeah, it’s Big Underwear and you turn around,
And you touch your knees and then you
Touch the ground.
Then you stand tall and wave your hands in the air.
“I’m one lucky troll in my Big Underwear.”

Two giant steps forward, one tiny step back,
I want Big Underwear on my baby fat.
Jump up high, turn around while you’re in the air,
Now you’re flying high in your Big Underwear.

Hold your hands above your head like a rocket ship.
Pretend that you’re going on a real space trip.
Wave at the aliens with the bright green hair.
“You sure look cool in your Big Underwear.”

Well, it’s your Big Underwear and it feels so grand.
You turn around twice just because you can.
You’re walking on a planet, there’s not much gravity.
In Big Underwear you step loose and free.

Well, it’s time to land splash down on the ground.
Pick up that Hula Hoop that you just found.
Round and round and round it spins.
In Big Underwear you sure can bend.

Yeah, it’s Big Underwear and it’s light as the breeze.
It comes up to your waist, it hangs down to your knees.
Let that hoop fall, just let it slide,
Time for a Big Underwear train ride.

Turn to your right and you make a train.
Hang on to that person and tell him your name.
And Chugga Chugga choo choo, it’s time to go,
Big Underwear express, don’t you know?

Well, it’s Big Underwear and you’ve had a nice day,
'Cause you can bend and move and you can twist and sway.
This train takes you home but you don’t care,
You had a great time in your Big Underwear.

Chugga chugga choo choo
Chugga chugga choo choo
Chugga chugga choo choo
Big Underwear

Haveyou, I mean, has your friend tied Watson’s? That’s where my fat-arse friend buys his boxers.

The Pants King on the corner of Nanjing and Long Jiang Rd might have them. As their sign says “Even the biggest birds can fit in our pants”

I’ll ask my mother-in-law. hyuk hyuk

And I thought the Big Underwear song was so damn funny. But, not a ripple…

The big underwear song is genius

Their sign in Taichung always cracks me up. It’s billboard size with a birdcage and this huge bird standing in front of the cage with a pair of jeans sort of wraped around it. It’s a man’s big and tall store, so you can’t actually buy bird’s clothes there. In Chinese is “bird” an allusion to “man”?

Hans

bird = penis, as does chicken.

Thanks! Makes sense.

There is a store in Taipei at the corner of Chin Shan and Ai Guo that sells large-sized clothing. I think I remember seeing boxers there when I popped in last week. There is a very very very large “aloha” print shirt displayed outside so you can’t miss it.

My fat bastard friend’s ongoing quest for whopper Y-fronts has been unsuccessful. However, he did find a clothes store selling tent-sized boxers.
My friend says that the store has a reasonable range of shirts and trousers.

The address is B1, 24 Zhongshan Rd., Sec. 7, Tienmu. I got there from the Shihpai MRT station, taxi fare - NT$80.

Looking uphill, the store is on the right. It’s in the basement so it’s easy to miss. There are several other stores further up that also have foreigner-sized clothes.

I thohught I saw some XXL in Costco, but can not guarantee the validity of the information as it is out of my range. Didn’t find the M - 30-32 there… (too small??)

That store is the absolute dog’s bollocks. Thank your friend for me. Just went there today and landed 3 pairs of giganto-pants and pair of boxers for a little over NT$2000, which is well cheaper than I expected.

There is a store in Taipei at the corner of Jinshan and Ai Guo that sells large-sized clothing.

I get many of my 2X items at this store. They are pretty proud of their boxers. NT 300 each. Bit on the steep side but at least they fit. Damn ugly though. Occasionally they have some decent looking slacks in the 400 to 600 range which I find pretty reasonable. They will also tailor to fit. Look carefully at any dress shirts you buy. I thought I found a great buy on a couple white shirts but found the collar wont lay flat and they are cut so they fit anyone(including me). They also had no shirt pocket. All in all you can get some decent buys but just try everything on and look for any flaws.

dharmatrading.com/html/eng/1 … g_men.html targets those doing their own tie dye, batik etc., but it does carry woven cotton boxers at a reasonable price. UPS shipping starts at around US$28 so you might want to order some other stuff like undershirts from them to make it worthwhile. Tie dyed boxers sounds fun. :stuck_out_tongue:

i think hes looking for briefs not boxers aka y front

I reckon he’s looking for a big girl’s blouse.

The thread title and the line
Any stores with tent-sized underwear?
are more general than that; and such threads serve as general sources of info for a lot of people in the future, not just as specific answers to the OP – especially after 2 years have passed since the OP.

If someone were to post a WCIF large boxers thread, it would probably get merged with this one anyway, to facilitate searches. :idunno:
