In case anyone else also wants to know, there is a place in Tingzhou Road that used to have lava lamps:
The shop is called 生活美學 Shenghuo Meixue

The address is No. 100, Sec. 3, Dingzhou (Dingzhou) Road. That’s around the corner from Water Park towards Tungnanyao (Dongnanya) Movie theatre, but on the other side of the road.
CLOSE BUT NO LAVA…

The above-mentioned place has things that look like lava lamps, but have tiny metal-flake hundreds and thousands floating around instead of lava.

Anyone know where to get a real one contact me at above e-mail address.

in the same building as the Eslite store on Anhe Rd… there is a store on the main floor that sells lava lamps… right next to the staircase up to Eslite bookstore.

there is also a store on DongFeng street, off of Fuxing, that has them as well.

I want to pimp my pad with a lava lamp!
4 years later, does anyone know if those places mentioned above still exist?
Or where I can get one now?

There’s this guy’s pseudo lava lamps…

Those are quite acceptable, and the price isn’t too bad.
The cylinder design is pretty cool.
Any idea if he has a physical store anywhere?

Only REAL lava lamps bring in the ladies. :no-no:

I’m ashamed. You see right through me.
But desperate times call for desperate measures, and I’ll settle for anything with glass, oil, lava and a slightly phallic shape.

Are you in Xindian? There is a lamp store near Tapinglin Station that has one, single, only lava lamp.

As a matter of fact, I’m quite close to there.
Exactly where, by Tapinglin, is it?

Lemme see, should be section III, 100 something, there is the Post Office, then a pharmacy, then the hardware store, then the lamp place. Good luck.

If not there, try the furniture stores across from the MRT station.

This place called “Indoor” now.
It sells mostly bedding and some other, um, indoor accessories, but no lava lamps.

I found this place yesterday, didn’t see one in the store so I drew the guy a picture.
He told me I had to go to China to get one.
The search continues…

I’ve never seen a real lava lamp for sale in Taiwan. And I’m certainly not parting with mine. :sunglasses:

I suggest you try planetlava.com/ have it delivered to an American address, and then get it shipped over from there. It’s worth it. I would never have had any sex in Taiwan but for the mystical powers of my lava lamp.

Mr Joesefus I can import one for you from South Africa if you so desire. I know a great place that specialises in lava lamps. My Dad will pick one up for you and mail it. Just pay the cost of the lamp and the postage.

I’ve actually got 3 at home in Canada.
But obviously, that’s not here.
I WILL track one down!

I’ll ask him if he can order it. How about the furniture stores? I am dead sure I pass a lava lamp on the way home frequently… I’ll keep an eye out.

I didn’t check the furniture stores, only the lamp place.
Get the address of the place if you see one again!

JP-Thanks for the kind offer, but I imagine shipping from SA would be more than the lamp is worth.

Here are some on yahoo: tw.search.bid.yahoo.com/search/a … 8&ei=UTF-8

I’ll try to buy from there if I can’t track down a store.

It’s easy to make you own. The hard part is getting the lava.

If I happened to be in Ximending I’d nose about a bit. Maybe the Wannian dept store area, or on the street off the circle next to mcdonalds. be a long shot i guess though.
