Learning at a chinese school - CLI

hi, i’d like to study chinese more in depth. it seems that language school may be a good option. as private schools are cheaper than universities, and i’m a beginner so any school’s fine, i’m thinking of going this route.
Heard CLI was a good choice. Can they get you a student visa, so you can study f/t, work p/t? Does anybody go there? Is their program good or bad?

thanks, Justin

You can’t learn Chinese at the CLI. Attendance is (very) optional. In fact 99% of the students never show up. This doesn’t make for a good learning environment.

If you want help with the visa, a little flexibility with attendance and acutally want to learn, try CLD.

CLI, CLD - can any kind soul out there please supply the URLs for their sites?

Thanks!

Here’s the URL for CLI:

china-language.org/

And here’s one for a bunch of other programs:

taiwan.8m.net/study.html

I saw people studying chinese at CLI.The thing is that you only have to go to class if you want to.They cant help you with an ARC,sorry.I tried that one. There must be better places to study than CLI.
