Learning Chinese

Hello. I will be arriving soon with only a minimum of Pimsleur preparation tape covered, in Taipei. What would you recommend signing up for school wise in order to a) potentially cover my ass for a visa and b) learn Chinese as quickly as possible while still working / finding an apartment, etc?

There are numerous language schools around Taipei of various qualities. Some will work well for just fulfilling the visa extension requirements, others might actually try to teach you something. There are several past threads on this if you do a search.
