Leaving TW & NHI cancellation

Due to an family emergency I need to leave TW as soon as possible. Am considering today’s Turkish Airlines flight.

Yesterday Moon Festival public vacation has started, so all government offices are closed until next week.

I want to stop my NHI payments as I am currently not sure when (if at all) I will return back to Taiwan.

So is it easily possible to deal with NHI cancellations from abroad and if someone ever has done that before, what would be the procedure ?

You can submit the form from overseas. It may be stopped when they receive the form not at the date you exit Taiwan.

1．請填妥『停保申請表』，經投保單位向健保署提出申請。本人無法親自申請
時，可委託在臺親友攜帶本人及受委託親友的身分證件、印章，向投保單位
辦理停保。

出國後申請停保者，以申請表件送達健保署之日為停保日，不可追溯至出國. 日為停保日。
