Lesson Formats

I’ve just reached Taipei after several years of teaching in mainland China. I’m after some advice on which schools have the most structured lesson plans and best resources. The schools/language centres I taught at in Shanghai had a lot of resources on their electronic screens (video stories, music, interactive touch screen games) and the learning structure was firmly structured around that. Which made it much more enjoyable to teach. It also meant there was less preparation time needed.

In the couple of interviews I’ve had so far in Taipei (I don’t want to name and shame the places) I’ve just been handed a bag of old, miscellaneous toys/flash cards and been told to start my demo. I did the demos and they were impressed, but I’m not sure I’d want to work at places like that for hours upon hours every day. It’s not that I’m lazy - but I want to be able to put my energy into the teaching and making sure the lessons are enjoyable for the kids and good for their language development. Rather than spending all my energy on making sure I can fill an hour long class with scant resources.

Can anyone give me some tips on which are the best schools in terms of resources and solid, core teaching structure? Any feedback would be appreciated.
