I was in Japan at the time, but I still couldn’t escape it. In fact, it was even more unavoidable than it might have been back home, since everyone I met wanted to bring him up the moment they found out I’m American. To be fair, 2016 was an exceptional time and I guess the whole world was constantly thinking about it.

What country’s syatem are we referring to? If you’re talking about something similar to some European countries, there are public hospitals and wait lines are endless. Vermont tried Uhc and gave it up almost immediately due to required increase in taxes that such a system would require.

You can find crappy and non-crappy service standards in both “socialized” and “non-socialized” health care countries. It’s more about the competence of the people running the system than about whether or not the state has any involvement.
