How far will a letter of recommendation get you with a prospective employer? Anywhere? Are these worth bothering with?
Thanks.

It really depends where you intend on working. Cram school? Don’t bother. College or Uni or some counsulting agency, it could help.
Bottom line:

Does the person you’re sending them to speak English? Are the letters comprehensible or are they full of reccomendese and EFL abbreviations? Are the letters from EFL supervisors and/or students, or were they penned by the family dog? Are the letters from other Taiwanese (good), foreigners (okay), or other Asains (lies)?
The answer is “depends.”
If you send them you’ll need a raw text form to paste into the body of your email for them to read (retype the letter into your computer) plus a small photo of the resume for authentication. The alternative is sending a 1MB or larger .gif or .png file, and no one appreciates that kind of crap in thier inbox.
