had a taxi driver once in Tainan who had some sort of nervous tick for lack of a better word and he would twist his neck violently every minute to one side every minute or so , but he drove well, although got me a bit worried watching that happen

Another random encounter. It’s starts pouring outside. Old lady spots two umbrellas behind the driver’s seat. Ask the driver if she can borrow one. Driver says, sure, go ahead, we have a never-ending supply of free umbrellas, anyway. Old lady says, thank you, and gets off the bus.

Love these kind of encounters, no drama, no shouting or arguments, just a normal, friendly interaction between people.

Another random scene. Bus approaches bus stop; no one waving. The bus almost passes the stop; a young lad (20 years old or so) jumps from his bus stop bench and waves. Bus driver hits the brakes and stops way beyond the bus stop; the young lad jumps on the bus, swipes his card, and goes back to doomscrolling mode immediately, no “thank you,” no “bu hao yisi,” nothing. Oh, the entitlement, oh the phone addiction. The lad almost fell on the bus later on, cuz he was playing with his phone and had no hand free to grab onto something.
A bus driver should never stop in this situation. If your phone is more important than the bus, so be it. Suddenly stopping and risking a fine for what? That entitled brat who has no sense of what is going on around him?

Fuck, l got the answer. The same woman just sat beside me again. When she got off the bus, she pulled out the same blood bag and wiped it to pay the bus fare. It was a bloody gimmick after all. Bloody hell!
