Line App Question, Stop Specific Conversation Notifications

I’ll use Line taxi as an example.

I want to stop notifications in this conversation (because they send like two or three a day or more).

  • Mute does not stop the notifications. Maybe Line as a company, not an individual, is able to override mute and send notifications?
  • Block stops everything.

There are some chats that I don’t want to block because I want to continue to receive the chat conversation but not a notification every time somebody makes a comment.

Is block the only option to stop notifications in a specific chat?

Related Line question of my own I’d like to tag on to this: every single time I open Line it goes directly to this pointless chat (rather than the list of chats):

Is this the norm, and is there any way I can stop it doing that? Notifications for the conversation are already off, and it’s been bugging me for several years now (on two different phones, both Android). Even when there are no new messages in the chat it goes there when I open Line, and even when I delete the entire chat the app just recreates it next time I open it to show me a blank pointless chat screen. It’s mildly infuriating.

I found I had to turn off all Line notifications otherwise it’s impossible to use.

Under the hamburger menu in a chat, there’s a mute setting that claims to do what you want. I wonder why it’s not working for you? I will try to start using it

My Line works this way, can mute individual chats. Under the hamburger menu as mentioned.
