Living at a friend's house, what papers can I present to immigration for ARC?

Hello.

I’ll be moving cities soon and I’ll be renting out a room at my friend’s newly bought house. Would it work if we just sign a lease contract and show that to the immigration office to update my ARC? Or is there anything else I need to do that might be easier for them?

Yeah. A lease contract is enough to change your ARC address.
