Are there any Logic Pro 6 users out there? I just received a boxed copy on my desk and have spent the better part of today trying to make a sound with absolutely no luck.
I must getting slow in my old age as I can never remember being duped by any software.
Anyway, I’m primarily interested in using it for the software instruments and notation layout. I have no external midi controllers.
If anyone could help out this newbie it would be greatly appreciated. I am quite comfortable using other sound editing and mixing software so in theory I should be a quick study.
Thanks for the reply. Looks like I made stupid mistake and the documentation is a bit sparse in this area.
I had turned off the core audio drivers and as a result none of the effects or software synths. worked. Cost me a few hours but no big deal I guess.
But God the program is deep. The last time I had to deal with anything like this it was strictly for arranging and orchestration - Encore running on a Mac Classic hooked up to a hardware sound module. At least its fun.
Glad you got it straightened out. Yes, it is quite a deep program and just gets deeper the more VST’s you get. There is a never ending stream of new VST’s coming out all the time.
FYI, if you don’t already, you should pick up “Computer Music” magazine. It has a special Logic section every month as well as lots of general sequencer details and tutorials. You can get it at the Eslite (ChenPing) bookstore for about NT$480 with free CD full of demo apps and samples.
Thanks, I’ll check out out that magazine. My copy of Abelton Live just arrived today and Reason should arrive shortly as well. Looks like I’ll be pretty busy over the next 6 months or more.
