A request for the creative folk.
10+ years ago, my uncle broke his neck in a motorbike race.
These days he trains to race his wheelchair–just missed a spot on the Olympic squad last time around.
One of the difficulties he ran into was moving his racing chair around, particularly with the airlines. There are hard boxes available, but like much specialty equipment they’re stupidly expensive. They’re also big and boxy, and not easy for a person in a wheelchair to maneuver through a crowded airport. The only other means of transport is to send the chair wrapped in a plastic bag, and you can imagine how well a finely tuned machine does in the care of baggage handlers.
Mom wanted to help, and after much trial and error designed and manufactured a kevlar bag that protects the gear, is easily handled, and costs 1/4 what the hard cases do. My uncle was very pleased and his competitors impressed. Now they’re getting a few orders, including one from the world’s top racer.
I figure they should have a logo, and I’m looking for ideas.
As this operation is run out of Mom’s sewing room, all I can offer is thanks and drinks. Oh, and glory, of course.
