Long grass - tips to avoid snakes?

And Beethoven wasn’t deaf because he had a spoon he could use to hear his piano…

Afaik they don’t hear airborne sounds, hence the bell is stupid. They “hear” vibrations on the ground with their bodies.

Your mother.

Sound is vibrations.

Don’t make me come over there and slap sense into you.

They hear vibrations with an inner ear.

Sounds like the perfect excuse for use of a flamethrower.

But then who needs an excuse?

Holy shit, you opened my eyes… You said sound is vibration…? That must be the discovery of the century…

Your voice is not going to be well transmitted by the ground. It will absorb it instead, or most of it. There is one study that says they can hear airborne vibrations, but it’s just one, and they claim that it “suggests”… And that’s most definitely what you found online before saying here that of course they can hear…

Then your Tinkerbell and your whining girlfriend must be quite unique if they sound low as a cello.

As I said, it’s bollocks.

To the op: also wear tall rain rubber boots. But remember some hang out on branches and similar.

Park a plane near the place. Snakes will flock to it.

As stated above by some posters…Boots (at least covering the calves, available at your nearest “everything” store for cheap), and a long stick/hiking pole for clearing webs, and making noise/vibrations to alert any critters. I’d also strap a machete to my backpack (if its really overgrown, you’ll need one), or an weed w(h)acker. Reflective aviator sunglasses and nicely brimmed hat so you look cool.

Oh…and a whip. Whips are cool.

Murphy’s law applies. Buy a snake book, a snake hook and acquire a passion for snakes. Go out with intentions of finding snakes. You will then be surprisingly safe from snake encounters.

That’s how the boys did it in Okinawa or was it Guam?

I went fossil hunting. Not a great site. Fossils are all broken bits of shells. I did find a nice fossil sea snail and coral and a small sea urchin, which ill take a photo later.
