Not an AI. I was kind of bored and wondering what people are doing these days.

I mean teaching is OK, and if you find find the right place you make a decent enough wage.

But some days I’m wondering if I could be doing something more exciting than teaching 9th graders about the circulatory system.

Of course you could be doing something else with your degree, going back to further education or working in a business or looking for a government job.

I’ve been here I think 15 years and have been a dog trainer the entire time. I’ve worked with the police and military teams as well as pet dogs. I also run a gap year project in Thailand at a shelter. I started selling dog products to customers and that evolved into making my own collars , leashes and harnesses. That led to people asking if I could make leather collars and harnesses for them , which I now do too. As well as leather book covers , wallets etc. I find all this ticks all the boxes for a happy life for me, I meet people , do something I enjoy, I have a creative outlet and I travel.

Hi Maria,

Another option is to get a job stateside that is remote or that allows you to live in Taiwan. It might mean being in the US from time to time or starting your job/career in the states.

That’s what my wife and I wanted and we made it happen but it started with the vision.

Yes 50 shades of grey type stuff, not a dream of mine but I was asked multiple times and all the stuff I need I already have so why not.

When I got here the baseline of knowledge about dogs was incredibly low. It’s not caught up yet but there is more of a clue now. There are a lot more trainers too than when I started which helps. Some of the things people have done over the years absolutely beggars belief
