Can anyone direct me towards a doctor specializing in nerve damage? Preferably certified to perform MRIs and EMGs etc.? My baby girl has Erb’s palsy due to birth complication…which probably could have been avoided, but that’s a whole other story. We’ve been taking her to our birth hospital (Chang Gung Memorial Hospital) for regular check ups ups. But I feel like I’m getting the run around. We have no idea of the severity of the damage at this point. All the doctors will do for us is offer physical rehab and tell us to wait and see what happens. I’ve learned far more about this condition and ways of testing for it through Google search.
Excuse the late reply as I just saw this. Did you ever find a good specialist? If not, would suggest you consider trying the Taipei City Hospital’s “Fuyou” branch. They are a pediatric and ob/gyn hospital, so they have specialists in all areas of children’s medicine, and can also refer you to one of their affiliated hospitals if they don’t have necessary equipment on-site. My wife and I have taken our daughter there, and were pleased with their professionalism.

My wife actually has found one in Beipai. And a couple physical therapists as well, which she sees once a week. Thankfully my daughters condition has greatly improved. Her left arm will likly never be as strong as her right, but she now has full function of her hand and near full function of her elbo and shoulder. And she’s improving more every day.
