I ordered a parcel by airmail from the UK over a month ago and it still hasn’t arrived.
The post office website says i need to give them my international incoming mail number to find the parcel, but i don’t have that. I’m trying to find it, but if i can’t is there anything else i can do? Is there any numbers i can call to find it?
It was supposed to be coming to an adress in xindian city if thats important
I’m afraid there isn’t anything you can do in this situation without some sort of number to track in the system. For future packages or letters, I’d strongly recommend getting a PO Box at one of the larger post offices. That will bring the number of lost packages down significantly while increasing the delivery speed, since packages for your area may well be routed through that PO anyway. On top of that, it costs around 300 NT (can’t remember exactly) to rent a box for a year. Can’t beat that. With everything sent to a PO Box, moving won’t be a problem.
Unfortunately some e-tailers refuse to send to a PO Box. Happens from time to time. Then you’ve just got to cross your fingers. I used to order DVDs from a site. Sure enough they wouldn’t deliver to a PO Box. So I gave them my home address. A couple of packages made it alright, but several disappeared into the ether. Won’t make that mistake again.
If you must have something sent to your home address, make sure it’s sent via registered mail, or through a carrier such as UPS. With your package tracking in the system that way, the odds of it making it to you rise a good deal.
Having said all that, it does sometimes take many weeks for a package from the UK or US to make it here, so I wouldn’t be too concerned yet. It could show up any day!
That question has been asked before: you cannot trace a parcel from the receiving end unless you have some tracking number. If it was standard airmail there is nothing the post office here can do, how would they know if it even arrived in Taiwan?
If it’s registered airmail or was sent by courier ask the other side to track it (if you don’t have any information yourself).
