Man blows brains out near Taiwan's presidential office

Heard it on the radio in the cab just now. Something about an unemployed man who went in front of the presidential building and shot himself in the head. :astonished: Anyone else heard about it?

Yep. In the morning he was still alive, dunno now. Not very pleasant seeing the cops hosing the blood down the sidewalk…

ps.
he used a 45 mm, dunno if he was a guard or something

Erm, don’t think it was 45mm. Maybe a 45 though.

Did this happen in Taiwan or the States?
EDIT: Oh, I guess it was Taiwan, right?

In Taiwan, hence the presidential building and not the White House.
Maybe I should’ve put it under Living in Taiwan.

Bet they charge him with weapons violations.

Sad.

Apparently he’s already been charged with that.

Sad nonetheless.

Hmm, the White Terror memorial plinth :ponder: Wonder if there’s any significance in the location. Perhaps the suicide was politically motivated than financially.
