I have an appointment at AIT to go fill out the form saying I’m single and so on. It’s scheduled for 9 a.m.
How long should it take? I just go there, show some IDs, pictures, whatever, sign the form, make it official, and I’m good, right? Should be pretty quick?
Do I have to get that form notarized by anyone before going to the HHR for the marriage? Or does AIT notarize it themselves? Does HHR notarize it?
Thanks for any info. I’ve read the other threads, but haven’t been able to track down these details.
Also,
Just to clarify the steps:
- Go to AIT and fill out the Single Affadavit Form.
- AIT Notarizes the form.
- Take it to HHR and get married.
OR
- Go to AIT and fill out the Single Affadavit Form.
- Take it to MOFA and get it notarized (2 days or so)
- Take it to HHR and get married.
Can someone clarify for me? This will be in Kaohsiung. AIT in Kaohsiung is telling me I can go directly to HHR, but HHR in Kaohsiung is saying it needs to go to MOFA first. Typical Taiwan… every situation is different and no one knows what’s going on.
