Taiwan is not a great environment for martial arts tbh. I think there is only 1 active pro teaching here. For example, the UFC gym here doesn’t have any pros teaching last time I checked. Almost all the other ones do, even the one in vietnam where my friend who is in the One championships trains. Most pros train others in gyms since they don’t make enough as a full time fighter. This is not the case in Taiwan. Not to say there are not good trainers, but if you want top level guys with a lot of experience and the environment, it’s not a good place.
But it’s growing. There are now two small MMA pro organizations now. There was only 1 before that organized small fights in clubs. I was lucky to bring it to a arena and on TV. It’s slowly growing for sure. We also have 1 Taiwanese fighter who competed in the UFC now.
