Mass shootings aborted: the good guy with a gun thread

It’s high time we had this thread.
When the shooting stopped, police said one suspect exited their vehicle to confront the occupants of the other. This is when two bystanders, who were legally carrying, interfered and stopped the incident, police said.

Augusta police say one of the men involved was injured. A bullet grazed the stomach of Kwiesha “Reggie” McBride of Harlem, New York.

Police say while this incident ended fine, they do not encourage citizens to step in. Be “good witnesses,” they told NEWS CENTER.

Deputies said 32-year-old Jody Ray Thompson pulled out a gun after getting into an argument with another man and fired several rounds toward a crowd that had gathered out in front of the club.

“His rounds struck three victims, and almost struck a fourth victim, who in self-defense, pulled his own weapon and fired, striking Thompson in the leg,” Lt. Kevin Bobo said.

Bobo said the man who shot Thompson has a valid concealed weapons permit, cooperated with investigators, and won’t be facing any charges.
If the concealed carry fellow hadn’t been there, this would have been a story for that other thread.

Two guys pulling out guns over traffic arguments and other normal every day events doesn’t happen much elsewhere. This belongs in the other threads all right.

It’s like saying thank god the PLA occupy Lhasa otherwise they never would have been there to stop a Chinese and Tibetan from a violent fight with knives that might have resulted in death. Roland’s conclusion: the PLA should continue to occupy Tibet and maybe everywhere else too.

If they hadn’t had guns in the first place, that situation would not have arisen.

There’s a reason such scenarios are extremely rare in Taiwan: it is illegal to own guns here.

This bullshit circular logic is why so many of us moved away from that mess.

I love my smith and Wesson MP 9mm and Ruger 357 revolver. I still have it in storage in the US. I feel like if there was a country that should have guns, Taiwan and Korea should both let civilians have them with North Korea and the CCP.

I got into a few gun control debates following the last few shootings. I’m an Aussie and I really wish we still had the right to bare arms for self defence, especially now with the mass shootings, jihadis, bikers and meth-heads shooting the place up. Actually Australians really don’t have much right to self defence at all, or even rights really (no Bill of 'em). Banning the guns hasn’t stopped gun violence or civilian massacres, and Australians (at least in my area) fear and resent the armed police.

TW and SK definitely need a Switzerland-style militia considering their neighbours.
