9、講師 Instructors:

李唐君 – 有多年 (~20年) Max/MSP/jitter程式設計之經驗,前香港城市大學及交通大學研究所
助理教授,參與過多項國際科技藝術節活動(Ars Electronica and SIGGRAPH Asia),
曾在International Computer Music Conference、Creativity and Cognition conference等諸多
知名國際論壇上發表論文。之前在大學裡,他教授進階的互動媒體設計、聲音設計及電腦音樂
等課題。此外,我們還會邀請一位亞洲的作曲家參與本次課程教學。

   Tang Chun Li, long time (~20 years) max/msp/jitter programmer and former City U of HK and
   NCTU graduate school assistant professor, and international tech art festivals participant (Ars  
   Electronica and SIGGRAPH Asia). He presented papers at International Comptuer Music
 Conference, Creativity and Cognition conference, and others. In his previous academic position,
   he taught interactive media, sound design, and computer music for advanced degrees.

  1. 關於本課程 More about this course:
    A. 課程目標 The objectives
    此次工作坊的目的在於針對現代跨媒體互動作品之操作提供一個聯合體驗,內容包括
    對環境的sensing與responding,甚至還有cross network configuration。課程構想
    是讓你用所有你得到的素材來創造屬於你自己的作品,親自動手參與學習,使學員們
    進入一個real-time操作環境中。

    The purpose of this workshop is to provide a unified experience of contemporary cross-media production of interactive work, including sensing and responding of the environment, or even cross network configuration. The idea is to use whatever you got to create your own work, do-it-yourself hand-on way of learning, and put the students into the real-time performance environment.
    

B. 課程工具 The subjects/tools used in this workshop
Max 是一個real-time event scheduling 及 processing 的作業環境,允許使用者 透過與視覺物件的互動操作,建構以時間為基礎的表演。Max 包含MIDI元件。
MSP 是一個聲音與音樂訊號的處理環境,能捕捉訊號與音樂資料。
Jitter 包含影片與3-D繪圖元件,其一部份以時間為基礎的操作能拓展到視覺元素。
Arduino 是一個獨立的硬體板,用作填充gap of gathering 與probing of the surroundings。
Arduino的課程單元包含一套工具組,有Arduino硬體板及一組感應器及電子零件。

    Max is a real-time event scheduling and processing environment that allows user to construct a time-based performance through visual objects interaction. Max includes a MIDI component.
    MSP is the audio and music signal processing environment that it captures both the signal and musical level of data and objects.
     jitter is the video and 3-D graphics components of this package. It is part of the time-based performance that extends to visual elements.
    Arduino is a separate hardware board that fills the gap of gathering and probing of the surroundings.

The Arduino module includes a tool kit package with an Arduino board and a set of sensors and electronic components.

   C. What to take away
  1. 基本數位聲音及影像原理及製作的訓練 Basics of digital audio, video, and graphics.

  2. 將學習實作當下熱門的互動媒體工具,如max, msp, jitter, arduino。

  3. 將接受DIY電子樂器及視訊互動等激發創意的 labs。DIY electronic music instrument.

  4. 學員們將跨領域一起工作研習。Cross-disciplinary collaboration

  5. 學員們將一起演出發表。Perform live as a team.

  6. 學員將學習感測外在環境基本訓練。Get to know how to sense the world digitally.
