No, it’s the mental condition of inflation: “buy now as it will be more expensive tomorrow.”
People waiting in line to buy the McGriddle are following the “I don’t want to be left out” meme; his wife is saying “buy Mcdonald’s today because the price will go up tomorrow.”
Personally I blame Joe Biden. Or maybe Justin Trudeau.
Yeah so like the street traders will say buy these oranges now, last chance only a few left. While actually they have lots , right? I guess that’s called creating a demand where there isn’t one. It’s like modern day witchcraft ha
I’m always curious what kinds of supply decisions go on behind things like this. They seem to have run out so quickly: I’m almost suspicious there was a container of McGriddle ingredients that accidentally wound up here, and they decided “Eh, what the hell, let’s sell them rather than send it to the right destination.”
I tried the mala McNuggets this morning in a rash moment of post-night-out bad decision-making.
Overall, I would say they weren’t too bad for anyone who considers McNuggets an edible food item. They had all the unpleasant cardboard flavor of regular McNuggets plus some mala, so pretty much what I was expecting.
It took approximately 23 minutes after biting into the first McNugget for the nausea and regret to set in, which is on par with regular McNuggets.
It cost NT$48 for eight (2x4 pieces), using the buy one get one free offer in the McDonald’s app, which I feel ashamed to still have on my phone since the last time I used it a year ago. The experience wasn’t worth NT$48, and I can’t imagine a situation where I’d be inclined to eat these again, even if they were free. I would probably have to be paid.
