Only a 1/4 of the people work less than 40 hours a week ! Gee. I am unfortunately almost sure that 50% of the workforce in Taiwan is just sitting in a office with nothing to do for 80% of the day…

Well, it seems that 33% of the workforce works for more than 45 hours a week. If this apply for white collar job, that’s too much.

I don’t know about the stats but I do know for sure that in Taiwan companies, efficient work isn’t rewarded so if you finish a job fast, you’ll just be given so much work that you’ll still end up working the same 10 hour shifts as everyone else, but more work. So people take a lot longer than necessary to complete their task and appease the laoban by acting like they’re working.
