According to this, you should stop the microwave manually with the stop button or switch rather than opening the door to stop it, because the microwave is supposed to be drawing a ton of power and the door switch can’t handle all that power, and so if you use the door to stop a microwave it will wear out sooner. I haven’t personally ever seen a microwave fail, often the buttons fail long before the microwave itself fails, but I wonder if it’s true…

I tend to open the door while the microwave is still running, but that’s just because I want to get superpowers.

I haven’t personally broken any microwaves no matter how I used them, and the membrane button fails before any other part of the microwave does.
Me too but because that box ain’t the boss of me.
I don’t even own one, cos I’m a fucking legend.
